enough that I can pack a suitcase in only a few hours minutes and I now have an MVP card from Alaska.
Yeah! no more baggage fees.

It was nice to soak up the warm weather for a few days after our way too short summer. We had couple of really wonderfully warm weeks in September that beat the heck out of June and July combined. My sister flew out for a week and managed to time it just right for this bonus weather. We spend one of her weekends in Hermiston at my high school class reunion. Her class reunion is next year and if they have one, I'll probably be a tag along, too!
Hawaii was a working trip for Brian and he was busy more than not, so I had to find a way to amuse myself...such a hardship, right? No, not really. There is that big blue ocean or warmer water in the pool at the hotel, shopping at stores you only read about in fashion magazines, along with people watching and just wandering around with my camera. This is the base of a huge Banyan tree near the beach. There's a bit of a fence around it and the birds seem to know they won't be bothered. Except by people like me who want to take their picture. I know you used to tell people to look at the birdie when you took their photo, so do you tell a birdie to look at the people???
Lili' Uokalani, easy to say or remember how to spell...? not so much for me. GPS in the rental cars makes it so much easier to find the street you are looking for. We used the 'find restaurant nearby' button more than once to discover out of the way local places that weren't listed anywhere else. One was a small family run barbecue spot that was hidden behind another building under an overpass. Another place we ate was Frank's Haute Dogs. While we were there the TV show 'Man vs Food' was being filmed. They were pretty adamant about NO PHOTOS. Stinkers. Yes, I was told to put the camera down....oh, well. If you wonder, the host is a lot smaller in person. Not that I can show you here.
mmm, I do miss this....I'm (still) giving away the two necklaces I made for bead soup.
(They are in the post just below this one.)
I'm going to pick the names tomorrow...
